Troublesome Tuesday

It’s Tuesday.

And as usual, I hate it.

Tuesday’s are the days that shit goes bad.
So, here is what has happened so far

Slept through 3 alarms.
Yep, thats right, THREE.
The fourth one woke me, 15 minutes before I was supposed to leave for work.

Reversed into my garage door.
And took the paint off the passenger door,
And bent the roller
No longer an auto-opening door,
Had to bend the track back with a knife.

Oh, SO not even going to touch this one.
But, my actual office – and employers – are perfect.
As usual.
But if I was telepathic, It would be awesome.

It’s like, an epic blonde moment.
All day.

Hi, hello, I have an addiction.
Pulling out the “API” issue is not going to make for a pleasant Miss Lexi.
Twitter, fix your issues.

How is your Tuesday going?

I pray to the goddess eBay.

Today i decided, in an effort to save funds
to delete the eBay iPhone app.

Worked out well.
For about 30 minutes.

I just found myself clicking buy it now on mac,
How do I even wind up on this site.

And what the hell did I buy.

Follow Friday

You can practically SEE the weekend from here.

For those who will be spending their evenings at home,
relaxing with a well deserved glass of wine,
Settle in for some reading with these FABULOUS blogs…
Fashion. Celebrities. Gossip.
Its all here.
Wonderfully sassy.
This blog is hilarious.
Follow one woman’s quest as she
endeavours to do as her iPhone app tells her.
It is exactly as it is titled.
Dare to dream.
Take delight in life
Be inspired, and inspire others.
Funny and witty.
You can find everything here.
Gabby is not afraid to laugh at herself.
And in turn, you can’t help but laugh with her.

Who are your favourite bloggers this week?

Friday Fails

Forgetting to set my alarm.
Luckily, my body clock woke me up.
But, unluckily, it was about 15 minutes before I had to leave for work.
Hello terrible hair day!

Last nights meal
It wasn’t a fail yesterday.
Last night it was an amazing decision.
Today I realise I should stick to the advice,
AND listen to my body.
Deciding to disregard both and consume BOTH gluten and lactose in one meal
was a terrible, terrible mistake.
Hello, ridiculous pain and bloating.

New Nails
They are just a little bit too long for practicality.
I am clicking with every keystroke,
and making too many typos.
Also, a little bit sharp, so constantly scratching myself.

What are your “Friday Fails”?

The Election

I always swore to myself that I would never discuss politics here,
But something is urging me to write about it.
Not about the campaigns,
Not persuade you, dear readers, who you should vote for.
But why I think the way I do about the current situation.

That current situation would be,
Julia Gillard.
Commonly referred to amongst my group of friends as “Fantapants”.

I disagree with most things she says.
She is the leader of the ALP and I was born a Liberal.
There are obvious reasons why I dislike the woman.

But there,
I said it.

That is the thing that frustrates me about this election.
It isn’t as simple as Man VS Woman.
But that isn’t what annoys me most.

I am annoyed at the things that I DON’T feel.
Gen-Y girls were raised believing that woman can do anything that men can do,
She and I have so many similarities,
Female, unmarried and an athiest.
I should WANT her to lead this country.

I don’t think she will do the best job.
She is merely a bogan puppet,
The strings are pulled by a higher power –
The ALP.

Before you number those boxes on Saturday*
You are NOT voting for a person,
You are voting for a party.

And please, Vote.
Don’t let Latham win and throw your voice away.
We have many men and woman, fighting a war where people die everyday, to gain the right to do something we all take for granted.

* Unless you vote early.
Like me.
I have better things to do on Saturday than be mobbed by the Green’s groupies.
Like, wash my hair.

Less than Ms Bradshaw.

My greatest role-model is Carrie Bradshaw.
You only have to know me for about 30 seconds before you work that out.

She is strong.
She is independent.
She knows what she wants, and she goes for it.

Much like how I want to be.

But not only is she the above things,
She is also loving her life,
She has the greatest friends,
And seems to have found her passion for her career early on in life.

As I sit here, in my new pink hoodie pyjamas and ugg boots, sipping peppermint tea.
I can’t help but wish my life were as glamorous as hers.

Guess that’s what life is.
Role models may come and go,
And as hard as you try, you will never live up to the image of them you have created.
The pedestal is too high.

My role-model is a fictional character.
She will never be real.
She will never have real heartache,
No debt,
No friendship breakups,
Never deal with death or disease.
Or everyday stresses.

She is perfect, She was written that way.
Therefore, no matter how much I fake it,
How much I strive for it.
I will always be, less than Ms Bradshaw.

Thankful Thursday

It’s Thursday,
So it’s time for the things I love,
Old favs I can’t live without
And new things I can’t wait to live with.

Paw Paw ointment
Possibly the GREATEST invention in the world.
This little red tube accompanies me everywhere.
Lip balm, moisturiser and heals tattoos fast.
I have even used on BratChild’s nappy rash.

Thursday Night Date Night
Means a delicious meal.
Discussion of current and past events.
Juicy Goss and a cocktail or four.
Always Darby Street.
Mostly Goldbergs.
Followed by Junction for more booze.

The Weather
The sun is out.
It’s warm, Spring is in the air.
It’s that perfect time of year when its still cool enough for boots
But warm enough to ditch the scarf and mittens.

Acrylic Nails
Natural nails suck.
Thursday late night trading means nails pre-date.
Freshly applied acrylic and new french tips.

What are you thankful for on this beautifully sunny Thursday?

I am a bit socially stunted.
And extremely awkward when it comes to social gatherings.

Pretty much avoid them as much as possible.
And hide behind my “social networking” persona.
Which is me,
Just a little bit more extroverted and out there than normal me.

This afternoon I had an amazing opportunity to meet some of the lovely people I talk to daily on Twitter.
They were everything they are online.
Fun, and fabulous.
Fortnightly coffee dates have been set,
And I very much look forward to this event increasing in numbers as the word spreads.
Nothing was awkward, it was all so easy.

So thankyou, #PortStephens tweethearts,
Today I realised that Social Networking really is a positive when it comes to being social.
And that I have nothing to lose by meeting new people.

Blog Surfer

I am always on the hunt for new blogs to stalk read.

Pretty fussy when it comes to ones I will read, and re-read, and follow.

I found a new one today, totally by accident.

Its called “I’ve Got Ball”.
It’s about a single lass, in Adelaide, living her life.
She talks about family, dating, work, baking.
But with a twist.
All her decisions are made by asking her iPhone app.

The trouble with Tuesdays

Tuesdays are probably my least favourite day of the week.
All the mayhem of Monday has snowballed, and all of a sudden everyone is “with it” again.
No one is still hungover.
Everyone is back on the ball.

Here’s what is causing me trouble today:

My Skin.
Despite having the worlds most sensitive skin, I have had little other trouble with it.
Unlike the rest of my family who have all suffered with Acne, I have been relatively zit free my entire life.
That was until Friday.
For some reason, my skin decided it was payback time, so I hit it with my brothers prescribed facewash and cream.

I lied to get it at the pharmacy, thought all was good, took it home and used it.
And burnt my face.

It hurts. Its like a sunburn, tight, itchy, swollen and red.
It’s currently covered in more foundation than I would use in a week, which isn’t helping the cause.
But it’s better than looking like Samantha Jones – Post Facepeel.

The Weather.
Sun and warmth is FANTASTIC.
But, considering it was absolutely freezing this morning, I have no idea where it came from.
Be hot and sunny.
Or be cold and rainy.
If I wanted 4 seasons in a day, I’d move to melbourne.

Honeydew Melon
I LURVE honeydew.
And got quite excited when it was in store
However, it’s not quite the season yet so it’s not as juicy and sweet as it perhaps should be.
